The Problem

Coastal Kidswear is an eCommerce retail store that specialises in products for outdoor active kids, such as school lunchboxes, drink bottles and beach essentials.

They came to us with two goals: improve the profitability of their paid traffic, and then scale.  

Prior to working with us, this store had tried to grow but without an effective strategy for their target market – Mums.

Their previous agency were spending money on ads with messaging that was not compelling for their target market.

They weren’t actively managing or optimising their ads – meaning wasted dollars spent on under-performing ads without any effort to implement better strategies.

And they only sent one email every couple of months! 😳

As an eCommerce retailer specialising in kids back-to-school and beach essentials, Coastal Kidswear operates in one of the most competitive product categories. There are literally hundreds of retailers selling the same brands!

But our client’s store has a very unique point of difference in the marketplace. Their service to customise and personalise products with a child’s name helps kids develop healthy eating habits and REALLY sets them apart!

Not having a skilled marketing team in-house and tired of feeling forgotten by an agency delivering lacklustre results, they came to us to manage their Meta and Google advertising, Klaviyo email marketing and Shopify website optimisation.

The Solution

Here were the 5 key steps we took to grow their revenue by 92% in just 3 months: 

1. We started by doing a deep dive analysis and prepared a cohesive marketing strategy.

We started by auditing Coastal Kidswear’s eCommerce and marketing platforms to identify the opportunities and areas that needed improving.

We then used our proprietary results-driven process to plan, implement and optimise a cohesive strategy and ‘results action plan’ to drive growth as quickly and profitably as possible.

2. Maximise and automate sales from the most profitable channel.

We completely overhauled their Klaviyo account, redesigning their list-building and email flows to engage with customers and automate the sales conversion process across the entire buyer journey. We also created a 12-month marketing calendar and commenced sending regular promotional campaign emails.

3. Drive traffic from scalable (paid) sources – profitably.

Generating consistent sales requires consistent traffic, and you can’t leave that up to chance. Paid traffic is the most scalable source of traffic, but requires the right content, offers and setup structure to appeal to the right audience, convert them profitably into paying customers, and scale up.

4. Optimise website for conversions.

Something a lot of people neglect when it comes to their digital marketing efforts is – what do people do when they reach the website?

Our next step was to redesign the website structure, content and functionality in order to improve the conversion rate.

5. Run product launches and promotions.

To grow, we always need to have marketing to convert new customers and to generate repeat purchases,. Product launches and promotions help to give people new and different reasons to buy, adding lucrative hits of revenue.

The Results

The single biggest leverage points in this multi-channel campaign success were:  

Increasing the revenue from ‘Owned’ data – revenue generated from their Klaviyo database increased over 155%! The ROI on this revenue is huge – 3800%. So this single datapoint resulted in a massive increase in profitability for this brand.

2. Increasing the revenue from paid Meta ads by 648%! Along with cutting the cost-per-purchase by 24% and increasing the Return On Ad Spend (ROAS) by 81%, resulted in a huge increase in profitable traffic and sales from this channel.

3. Increasing the revenue from paid Google ads by 97%, with an 18% reduction in cost-per-purchase and a 19% increase in ROAS.

And this was only the beginning!
